Europe can do AI — there is a lack of courage

AI sovereignty in Europe: The solutions are there — what is missing is the courage to implement
30.02.2026, Munich
Time and again I hear: “There are no real alternatives to AI in Europe. ”
That is not true. What is often missing is not the technology, but the courage to use it consistently.
Europe has solutions (including our SSI Group). For AI, cloud, data storage, security, regulation. What slows us down is not so much innovation as decisiveness.
AI is not a tool that you buy and turn on. It is still a system issue.
If you want to use AI seriously, you need: clear architecture, rules and governance instead of gut feeling and above all: trained personnel
Because without people who understand what they are using and why, there is no sovereignty but dependency. Technology without structure scales chaos. Systematic technology creates value.
If Europe really wants to be independent when it comes to AI, we must:
not only select solutions, but also empower organizations to operate them cleanly. That means investing in: Knowledge. processes. education. Responsibility.
The solutions are there. Now we have to take the next step and actually implement it.
