Visit to Fraunhofer IDMT in the ElaS+ project

Strong exchange at Fraunhofer IDMT

Gottfried Gillich was on site at the ElaS+ project this week and it was really exciting to see how far the topic of AI-based quality assurance in laser welding has already reached.

The project is about nothing less than inline testing of safety-critical welding processes, combined with predictive process adjustment, an AI platform and the experience of machine operators. Objective: stable quality, even for small batch sizes, cost-effective and scalable.

Thanks to the entire project team for the open exchange and insights. We are looking forward to the last months of our joint project with you.
